These septarian nodules fit perfectly in your hand. They are a perfect mediation companion and can be used in grid work, crystal healing layouts , placed on an altar, the possibilities are endless. Septarian nodules are also known as known as Dragon Stone. They are concretions that were formed during the Cretaceous Period, approximately 50 to 70 million years ago. They ancients called them Dragon’s Stone as lore says that they believed that the dragons breathed fire into the earth to form them. Size ranges: 2.25" x 2.0' x 2.0" to 2.5" x 3.0" x 2.5" Septarian nodules are considered ancient wise ones that resonate with Earth energies and healing. Dragon's blood consists of a combination of all or some of the following, calcite is yellow, aragonite is brown, limestone is grey, and barite is white to clear. The cracks are called “septaria”, from the Latin septum; partition. How did these marvels form? Well, to the best of my understanding it went something like this: There were volcanic eruptions, the volcanic eruptions killed smaller sea life and the minerals in the shells and dead sea life attracted sea floor sediments and the minerals and sediments chemically bonded. As the ocean receded these mud balls began to dry and shrink and crack into the lovely patterns we see today. Or simply put...fossilized mud bubbles. Tid Bit: The yellow calcite will fluoresce under uv illumination. Crystal System: Trigonal Mohs hardness: 3.5 - 4.0 Chakra association: root and solar plexus Element: Earth 💙 Blog: 💜 Newsletter: 💚 Pinterest: 🖤 Twitter: 🧡 Facebook: 💛 Instagram: Be the change you wish to see in the world. -Mahatma Gandhi-
